Asking creators questions is a huge part of engagement on TikTok. It helps fans learn more about the creator and their content, and increases the loyalty between fans and their favourite creators as they engage with their audience. This week, TikTok has made it easier than ever to engage with creators using a new Q&A feature they just rolled out this week.

In videos, users will now be able to designate their comments as “Q&A questions”, which will be labeled as questions in the comments section. This makes it easy for a creator to quickly identify these questions and reply to them in a timely manner.

Creators will be able to respond to questions with comment responses or video replies, just like they would for other video replies to comments, and add Q&A comments as stickers in responses. The new video will link back to the original, where the question was first asked.

The feature was first spotted in testing back in January this year, however, the tool has only been available to creator accounts with more than 10K followers. Now TikTok is making it available to all users who've switched to a creator profile.

The Q&A feature is not available by default and you have to turn it on in order to take advantage of this community-building tool. If you are a creator, you can turn on Q&A, by:

  1. Going to your settings and privacy page
  2. Selecting "Creator"
  3. Tapping Q&A and hitting the “Turn on Q&A” button to activate the feature.

That’s it! You’re good to go! You can now use all your videos, even if you go Live. TikTok has reported that they are extremely excited about the opportunities this new feature will add to the fast-growing platform:

We're excited to see how Q&A empowers conversations and connection on TikTok, bringing our community closer together and inspiring new creativity.

If you would like to switch to a creator account, select “Manage account” in your settings and choose the “Switch to Creator Account” option. Don’t forget to update to the latest version of TikTok to enjoy all that's new with Q&A.
